Late 18th C. Gilded frame, antique embroidered and hand-painted silk piece. Depicts a woman with three children, set against a passing ship in background.
This silk is English circa 1800 (note wardrobe). Silks of this nature are usually hand sewn and painted by young ladies in commemoration of an event or passing.
